Beautiful moon just before the firework's
Some people like to drive to the country to get away. We are just the opposite. We came to the city! There is a RV park nestled away in the city called The Vineyards Campground on Lake Grapevine. This place gives you plenty of room to spread out but you are close to everything Dallas Fort Worth has to offer.
Our first stop was to go to Central Market in Southlake to gather a few snacks for our stay. Then we decided to try a local place downtown Grapevine for dinner. Willhoite's is located just south of downtown on Main street. It has great atmosphere (and comfort food) and seems to be a place where the after work crowd goes to unwind.
After dinner it was back to the park where we watched the Friday night fireworks sponsored by the City of Grapevine. If you are in the RV park you have a front row seat! It is second only to Disney World and they do it every Friday night during the summer!
Saturday morning, after coffee in the park, we go to our favorite breakfast spot: Main Street Bistro & and Bakery. It is downtown Grapevine.
Late afternoon (5:30pm) it is time for Church. Saint Francis in Grapevine. After church we decided to go back to camp where they had a kayak night where you could kayak the evening for free. They helped a lot of people that never kayaked before and they were allowed to try them out. You can rent these at any other time here at the Vineyard camp.
Sunday coffee and breakfast at camp. Later that daywe had brunch at Kubys with our daughter Trisha and husband Jeremy; what a relaxing day!
