One Week in Portland

On October 25th we left for Portland OR to visit our three grandsons. We had a wonderful time.

This is our invitation to Grandparents day. This was one of the reasons we had to be there.

Coloring pumpkins

Halloween parade at school

We also were there in time to see

Luka's last soccer game for the year

and Alyosha's last soccer game.

Niki charmed grandpa in to (swing me please)!!

Who can resist this.

One afternoon we went to a Halloween party.

Luka is an excellent rock climber.

Niki had this all figured out.

Alyosha and his friend had a great time.

The next day off to the farm to see  Farmer Don!

Farmer Don showing the children how to wash carrots.

We had to say hello to ???

Then a hay ride to the pumpkin patch

Hang on!!

Luka found a good one

Niki found one and is off for another one.

Dinner at home

Luka and Niki are good helpers. We are making turkey and vegtable mixed patties.

Time for carving pumpkins

The tongue is working harder then the knife

The end result was a pumpkin face, a ghost, a headless horseman and spooky hand.

                                                           Oh yes there is more.

On Halloween we drove to a freinds house for a halloween dinner and then off to trick or treat.

The gang is ready  to Trick or Treat!!!

Niki had a lot of help!! Grandpa

Mama!!

Alyosha is almost to fast for us to keep up!!

Home checking out all the goodies.

WOW!!!!!

Here grandpa you can have one.

 Disney on Ice

One evening we took all three boys to Toy Story 3 on ice

Yes Mickey Mouse was there also.
Then it is time to go home.

We had a wonderful time with every one. We did so much in just a few days.
Not much help to Jennifer who is almost 9 month pregnant! She kept up with us all of us. We hope that when we come back for the new baby (Boy or Girl) we can give her at some rest and peace.

Sun set from the plane going home.

Portland Oregan

Just a few more days and off to Portland Oregon

This was the view from the apartment.

There is a lot of things to do in Portland. One thing I would suggest is to park your car and use public transportation. Not much parking and the transportaion is great.

 Going to the Zoo

This is a great Zoo ( Luka watching the Seal)
Then there is the Rose Garden.

When you come at the right time it is just amazing!

You also can go to farms and pick you own  berry's. We picked  fresh blueberry's and raspberry's. I think we ate more than we picked .

Good job!!

oh so good!

Little help from Aunt Stacy

Yes you can eat all you want!

.Not to forget the country side with waterfalls and hiking trails every where.

Grandpa and two grandsons

And then there is one of my favorites: The Oregon coast.

But the reason we go to Oregon as much as we can is not any of these reasons.  It is our daughter, son in law and our three grandsons and one on the way (could be a granddaughter). We love to be with them as much as we can.

Cabin on Wheel's at Home

A wonderful weekend at home. Weather is just perfect; low in the 80's. Dinner menu for tonight  is going to be Red Onion Jam with bagget slices as an appetizer. The first time we  tried this was at Napa Valley Grill that was located in the Mall of America in Minnesota. For the main course we decided to make Pico de Gallo Shrimp over pasta. This recipe came from Chef Jon Bonnell. We have not had a chance to eat at Bonnell's Fine Texas Cuisine but we have eaten some of Bonnell's great food when he and his wife came to Graham for the reception at Art Splash.
